Brianna Wheeler

Brianna Wheeler is an award winning essayist and illustrator in Portland, Oregon. Her creative nonfiction has been featured in the literary journals Moving Parts, Midnight and Indigo, and The Nasiona. She is a frequent contributor to Weedmaps, NW Kids, and Portland's Pulitzer Prize winning newsweekly, the Willamette Week, where she writes the Potlander cannabis column. Brianna has been a cannabis advocate for over 20 years, but only recently pivoted to cannabis journalism. She maintains that she is not a "cannabis writer," but that she is a compelling writer who loves to write about cannabis. When she's not at her desk, you can find Brianna painting portraits of her favorite drag queens, gardening stoned, playing one of her 7 musical instruments, or enjoying a road trip with her family. Her favorite color is rainbow, her favorite food is everything, and her favorite person is herself.
