CANN social tonic cannabis drinks

Cann makes low-dose “social tonics” to replace alcohol in social settings. The newbie company dropped into the cannabis scene back in February 2019 and was met with almost instant success.

Their tonic comes in unique flavors like lemon lavender and blood orange cardamom, plus the occasional seasonal brew. Just like me, Cann believes CBD and THC work best together, so each flavor has a specially calculated formulation of the two that is present in all flavors.

TL;DR – If you’re not the drinking type, you’ll like Cann. Each drink is enough for a slight buzz, so you’ll feel just like your friends drinking beers.

Highlights
Cann Social Tonics provide a feeling that facilitates everything you need to be your most social self. With 2mg THC and 4mg CBD per can/serving, Cann provides the perfect balance of two essential cannabinoids. The cans are easy to use once you figure out how to open them, and are relatively stylish for something that’s child proof. Each flavor has a pale hue to it, in line with the foggy translucence of a malt beverage like Mike’s Hard – but tastes way better. As a matter of fact, I prefer the taste of Cann to any alcoholic beverage, although I might be biased since I’m not much of a drinker. Last but not least, there was no detectable trace of cannabis, which is an impressive feat!

Editor’s Picks

  • The Cann Lemon Lavender variety has such a sharp flavor! Lemon and lavender is a great combo, and it doesn’t taste fake or chemically. Plus, the after-effects are better than a cocktail, if you ask me.

Cann Lemon Lavender

Lemon Lavender is one of the three flavor staples for Cann. This flavor uses fresh lemon juice not from concentrate, and natural lavender flavoring. There are only 5 clean ingredients in this drink and no chemicals. This flavor, like all the others, has 4mg CBD and 2mg THC per can.

Highlights

All of Cann’s drinks hit the same, but this flavor in particular was one of my favorites. With a pale yellow hue, there was no weird chemically taste from stevia, and the lavender flavor was clear and shining through. Since Cann is a beverage, the effect hits you sooner, in about 10 minutes after consumption. This erases some of the guesswork of traditional edibles, making this product very user-friendly, even for cannabis beginners.

Cann Blood Orange Cardamom

I’m a sucker for anything Blood Orange, and this flavor Cann does not disappoint. On the flip side, I usually dislike cardamom but I thought it was very well balanced in this setting. The combination of the two flavors was slightly eclectic for my taste, but the product is still very high quality.

Highlights

It’s hard not to enjoy the quick absorption of cannabis beverages. Compared to other edibles, they have a much faster activation time. In a way, I think cannabis beverages might be the most similar to consuming an actual drink of alcohol, so if you usually stay away from booze but you miss the feeling of a happy hour with all your friends, bring a can or two of Cann along!

Cann Grapefruit Rosemary

Grapefruit Rosemary is a more classic flavor, and Cann does it well. Of all the flavors, this one was probably slightly more chemical-ly in taste for me because of the rosemary. But despite taste, the effect of Cann’s 4:2 CBD to THC ratio is worth it.

Highlights

Cann’s grapefruit rosemary flavor makes you feel like you’re sipping on a cocktail with an herbaceous rosemary garnish. The drink only takes about 10 minutes to take effect, meaning you’ll be getting buzzed at virtually the same rate as your friends drinking alcohol. There really is no cannabis taste to the drink at all. I’m not sure how Cann accomplished that, but they knocked the formulation out of the park.
