Born out of Hope, British Columbia, Canna Farms was one of the first Canadian companies to receive a ACMPR/MMPR license in 2013, and has been dedicating years of service to providing quality products since then in both the medical and recreational markets.

This brand provides a large selection of product types along with various potency levels in both THC and CBD, and carries an even more extensive catalogue in the medical division.

Canna Farms claims that their flower is organically grown with glacial-fed groundwater, and without pesticides or foliar spray. Their standard cannabis flower that is machine trimmed and hand groomed goes for around $10/gram, while their higher potency craft flower like Pink Kush or G.S.C. increases to just above $12/gram.

On the medical side, where Canna Farms’ selection is considerably bigger, one can find dried flower for as low as $3.99/gram. A nice perk that the Canna Farms medical market offers to consumers is compassionate pricing of 25% off for those whose annual income is less than $28,000 a year. A great offer considering their recreational prices are a little bit on the higher side!

Highlights
Canna Farms primarily curates products with higher potency levels, which ultimately caters to the more experienced cannabis users. Their indica dominant strains are great for those who are looking for help mitigating things like insomnia, stress, or anxiety. However, in this review, their sativa-dominant product struck a very low potency level and wasn’t super effective for me. Canna Farms does a great job of using traditional strain names too, which is easy for users to identify what they’re consuming without any confusion or extra research. Also, if you really want to step up and test the validity of their Quality Assurance and Control Program, then reach out and ask them directly for the Certificates of Analysis. I was able to access these with a quick email inquiry!

Editor’s Pick

  • Although I am a bigger fan of sativa-dominant strains, I really loved both the Pink Kush and G.S.C. from Canna Farms. These high THC indica strains will now be a considerable choice when I am looking for something to help me sleep and relax after a long hard day. Both strains provided strong bodily effects and helped me ease into a more relaxing mind state. If you’re looking for something specifically for night time use and predominantly focusing on bodily effects, then I would definitely recommend either of the two!

Canna Farms G.S.C. Pre-Roll

This indica-dominant pre-roll of the iconic and historical strain Girl Scout Cookies is a classic selection for those that are ready to head to bed and hit the pillow… HARD! It’s perfect for evening or night time use and will have you feeling couch or bed locked in a matter of a few short minutes.

Because of its dominant terpenes of caryophyllene and limonene that are known for being anti-inflammatory, I’d recommend it to those who may experience aches or pains. It would also make a great aid for those with anxiety and/or stress.

Highlights

Canna Farms’ G.S.C. one gram pre-roll came tightly rolled and packaged up in a simple plastic child-resistant tube that was quick and easy to open. Its smoke was consistent and had a nice oily ring around the end the entire way through too, making it effortless to consume. At the beginning of each toke, herbal notes would stick and hang out on the bridge of my nose, while the subtle peppery notes tingled at the back of my throat. At the end, I was treated with a bit of a sweet aftertaste. Heavily sedative physical effects and euphoric mental effects came quickly just within a few minutes, and I love that I got a strong eye stone with it too. My eyes felt completely tightened and droopy, which allowed me to feel super sleepy and easily ready to sleep!

Canna Farms Critical Super Silver Haze Pre-Roll

This baseball bat shaped one gram joint is a perfect friend to bring to a day out at the beach. It’s fine for day time consumption and is recommended for those who want to add a shortly timed buzz to their day without any cerebral overwhelm. Also recommended to users who are looking for lower range THC potency levels, as this batch came up at only 14.3%.

I was a bit disappointed at seeing the considerably high price point of $22 for a single gram, and that’s not including tax for us Canadians! It was also defective upon arrival when I opened it, and unfortunately found dried stems inside while trying to repair it.

Highlights

Upon opening this product, it appeared that it got damaged in either the line of production process or possibly during transportation. There was milled flower all over the plastic tube when I opened it, and the filter appeared to have stretched larger than the joint itself, which caused a big hole in the paper. There was also a large gap between the filter and the cannabis itself, which caused the joint to be extremely lopsided and look detached. It was very disappointing, so I took out the flower and stuffed it into a pre-rolled cone. I was then even FURTHER disappointed to see that the flower inside was extremely dry, and had three little sharp stems in it. I’m going to go ahead and assume that these pre-rolls were possibly made with shake, hence the low potency levels. Not too impressed with this product!

Canna Farms Pink Kush Dried Flower

As a finalist for Top Indica Flower at the Canadian Cannabis Awards in 2019, Canna Farms’ Pink Kush craft strain is fabled for having strong bodily effects for its users and is a top choice for those who experience pain, insomnia, anxiety, or stress.

Given its effects and strong THC potency, ideally it would be best consumed for evening or night time use, and for those who are experienced THC consumers. The production of this Pink Kush strain is considered ‘craft quality’, meaning it was exclusively hang dried, hand trimmed, and hand packaged. This may be the reason for it’s expensive price point of $50 CAD for 3.5 grams, which may be a little bit too high for those looking to mitigate more chronic afflictions.

Highlights

I really enjoyed the experience that the Canna Farms Pink Kush flower provided. It’s quick onset of effects left me with a deep, sedative body relaxation along with a calm, happy, and almost giggly cerebral effect. My body felt light and floaty, and was very euphoric without any overwhelm. I also really enjoyed the tightened vision which made my eyes feel like they were almost closing. A perfect set up for me to melt into my bed and head straight to dreamland! However, considering its “craft” label and steep price point, I was expecting the nugs to be a little bit larger and with higher trichome density, as well as a little bit more hydrated.
