- Each Elixinol product tested scored high marks (save for the pickle gummies), but the CBD Sports Gel stands out for the inclusion of capsaicin and arnica in its formulation. Capsaicin, aka the chemical heat produced by chilli peppers, and arnica, a traditional, herbal anti-inflammatory, are singular pain treatments on their own, but when combined with Elixinol’s high quality CBD, become greater than the sum of their parts. It has quickly become one of my favorite topicals to recommend to folks who are interested in therapeutic CBD, but not entirely sold on the efficacy of cannabinoids.
Elixinol CBD Sports Gel
As a family of physically active individuals, we run through a ton of topicals – be they drugstore salves or cannabinoid rich balms. Elixinol’s Sport Gel represented the best of both worlds. Because the formulation was familiar as both a traditional medicine and as a modern curative, we found it to be superior in both alleviating and preventing pain.
The gel texture absorbs immediately and leaves behind neither a sticky nor an oily residue. The perfume, however, leaves something to be desired. The fragrance is a hodgepodge of botanicals and essential oils reminiscent of an incense stall at a farmer’s market – which is to say, it may be overwhelming to the uninitiated, or it might be the user’s defining bouquet. Either way, the user will assuredly be pain free while slathered in this gel, regardless of the smell.
Highlights
Elixinol’s Sports Gel has a light, non-greasy texture that absorbs super fast and leaves a sheer wash of botanical fragrance behind. When massaged into aching muscles, the gel reduced/relieved superficial pain within an hour. When used as a preventative against sore muscles pre-workout, the gel delivers a cellular barrier against strain. While the perfume might feel aggressive to some, it’s overall pleasing in a naturopathic kind of way. At $60 for 3.4 oz, this gel is in line, price-wise, with commensurate CBD topicals.
Elixinol Everyday Daily Balance Tincture
I love a CBD tincture as part of my morning wellness routine, so I preferred this tincture to Elixinol’s gel caps. While Elixinol does produce a flavorless variety of their Daily Balance tincture, this particular product was spiked with cinnamon and mint. Those flavors are compelling, though admittedly limiting when it comes to adding a few drops to my morning tea or smoothie.
One bonus though, the brisk combo of cinnamon and mint make this easy to take sublingually after brushing one’s teeth, making it a welcome addition to my morning routine regardless of its flavor’s limitations. My partner found the flavor combo to be particularly soothing when taken at night, and just like all the Elixinol ingestibles, this tincture supported healthy sleep just as well as it supported a bushy-tailed morning.
Our greatest takeaway from our time with Elixinol’s CBD was how responsive the products were to our resting states.
Highlights
Elixinol’s Cinnamint CBD Tincture contains peppermint and cinnamon oil, both of which carry their own therapeutic applications that gently bolster the efficacy of this product’s lower (33mg or less) dose of CBD.
The flavor limits the usage of this particular tincture – incorporating this into a beverage or dish will require more ingredient consideration than a flavorless tincture might – but the blend is toothsome nonetheless. A serving is one dropper (dropper sizes fluctuate depending on the bottle size), and finding and maintaining an ideal dose is simple when using the dropper’s measurements.
Elixinol’s Cinnamint Tincture is available in a range of sizes/dosages, from an 8ml, 8mg per-dose bottle to a 4oz, 33mg pre-dose bottle – all at prices commensurate with their competitors. Users should anticipate a range of disparate effects that align with their resting state: sleep support, pain relief, and a.m. focus were all experienced in equal measure during our time auditioning this tincture.
Elixinol Good Mood CBD Gummies
The effects of these gummies are far too ephemeral to justify their odd flavor; no matter which gummy we chose from the mixed fruit container, we were struck by the distinctly unpleasant flavor of pickle juice. The lingering vinegar-y aftertaste made prolonged testing a struggle, and without a powerfully soothing CBD effect, the enterprise felt like a waste of energy.
There are plenty of 10mg CBD gummies on the market with more agreeable tastes, but unfortunately, despite an outstanding product line, Elixinol’s Good Mood Gummies fell just short of the median.
Highlights
Whether or not these gummies were particularly effective was lost on us as users; the pickle-juice aftertaste was our primary takeaway. Even if we had been swept away to new levels of clear-headed complacency, we still would have had pickle breath. And sadly, it was difficult to pin down our promised Good Moods when we were trying to vacate the vinegar from our palettes.
Otherwise, these are medium-firm, quarter-sized gummies reminiscent of corner-store candies dusted with sugar (the assorted fruit flavors contained within are passion fruit, pineapple, and mixed berry). The sweet, generic “fruit” flavors of each are appropriately bright, but are buoyed by such an aggressive pickle vibe that it’s my estimation that only dedicated pickle-heads will savor them. Thankfully, Elixinol has reduced their price so pickle lovers can snatch them up at a currently discounted rate.
Elixinol Everyday Daily Balance Capsules
Our household is far more dialed into tinctures than gel caps. In fact, I actively dislike swallowing pills, gel caps in particular, making my audition with the capsules particularly harrowing. I appreciate the packaging, these capsules come in either a bottle or in individual packages of 2 15mg capsules each.
The on-the-go single use packs were great for packing into a day bag or stashing in a car console for emergencies, but they do create a bit more waste than I’m comfortable with. As a part of a daily wellness regimen, these capsules were effective in soothing superficial soreness and helping me maintain an even temper. My husband preferred to pop a capsule after a long work night, finding the formulation to support both sleep and recovery.
Highlights
Elixinol’s Daily Balance CBD capsules are straightforward and simple hemp CBD and coconut MCT oil gelcaps. When taken as a part of a daily wellness regimen in the morning, they provide gentle mood balance, and easing of everyday aches and pains. I also found them to temper anxiety on days when stresses may have otherwise gotten the better of me.
When taken in the evening, they support restful sleep and dynamic physical recovery. And when taken with the intention of one-off medicating (for instance, after a rigorous workout or before a stressful circumstance) they deliver an even slate of pain and anxiety relief.
The bottles run around $65 for 60, 15mg capsules, while a 10 pack of 30mg single use packs will run you around $25. The products themselves don’t look as high-quality or fancy as some of the other brands like Lord Jones or Not Pot, but they sure perform just as well.
Goods & Bads
As is the case with every product on the market, there are some pros and cons with the Daily Balance Capsules. Of course, let’s start with the good stuff.
These CBD capsules are vegetarian and extremely easy to consume — they’re just like your everyday vitamin! They do not come with any pungent smells or tastes, leaving you to enjoy the effects of the capsule fully. Every person is different, but I found a strong sense of calm, confidence, and productivity with these capsules, and my everyday aches and pains were taken care of.
Unfortunately, at only 15mg, this strength may not be enough for more experienced consumers. Elixinol doesn’t offer any other potencies for their capsules, so if you’re looking for something more substantial, you’ll likely just have to double your dose. Sadly, this also means that you’ll probably have to purchase CBD more frequently than others. But, minus the low potency, there’s not much else to complain about here. These capsules really do get the job done.
Function
At the end of the day, the Daily Balance CBD Capsules work well — as long as you don’t have too high of a tolerance. Elixinol has taken the time to craft its products properly and ensure easy consumption. Simply put, you don’t have to worry about the functionality of these capsules: they’re just like your daily pill.

The capsules themselves are well-made, and you don’t have to worry about leakage. However, the packaging is a bit flimsy, and your pills don’t come in a bottle unless you purchase a 60-pack. So, make sure you store them properly! Otherwise, they could easily get damaged.
Flavor
Thankfully, there’s practically no detectable flavor with the Daily Balance Capsules. Some capsules come with a residual plant-like taste, but that’s not the case with these. Instead, they’re entirely flavorless, making them perfect for taking with a glass of your favorite beverage.

Thus, the experience with these capsules felt robust and more full-bodied than I had experienced with other broad-spectrum or isolate capsules. Also, as we mentioned above, these capsules are incredibly natural. They’re vegan, cruelty-free, and embrace the organic benefits of ashwagandha.
Unfortunately, like their other products, these capsules only contain 15mg of CBD each. While this may be good for those newer to the world of CBD, more experienced consumers would need to consume much more than just one capsule to get full effects. It’s also important to note that Elixinol designed these capsules to relieve occasional stress, not chronic. So, if you’re someone who suffers from more than just occasional stress and anxiety, you’ll likely have to turn to something stronger.

These CBD capsules work well and are made well. There’s nothing iffy about how they work within the body, as they’re directly reminiscent of your everyday vitamin. Every pill is just as quality as the next, and there are no strange textures or additives.

Elixinol chooses not to just rely on CBD within their Sleep Good Night Capsules. Alongside the cannabidiol is carefully dosed melatonin to give your body a natural dose of sleepiness. The effects of these capsules do work quickly and effectively, but the 15mg may not be enough for more experienced consumers like myself. Still, the lack of unnatural additives and supercritical CO2 extraction proves purity and quality for the Sleep Capsules.

The use of full-spectrum extract only adds to the list of positives, which helps create a better, more rich experience for consumers. Finally, these sleepy capsules don’t contain any unnatural additives, colors, or flavors, so you can fully enjoy the CBD in front of you.
The biggest — and pretty much only — problem with Elixinol’s Sleep Good Night Capsules is the potency. As I’ve found with the rest of their products, these capsules only contain 15mg of CBD, making them relatively mild for anyone with a high tolerance.
While taking more than one capsule for a good night’s rest is an option, that means you’ll have to purchase more sooner than later. Also, it’s not clear how much melatonin is actually inside these capsules. Though they make the CBD levels clear, you’re left in the dark about your melatonin dose.

The Sleep Good Night CBD Capsules are crafted well and work well. They come in an easy-to-open container and are completely sealed to avoid any leakage. Since Elixinol doesn’t use artificial additives or unnatural ingredients, the capsules look and feel 100% pure and high-quality.

There’s nothing extraordinary about the way that Elixinol packages its CBD capsules. The bottle itself is well-made and opaque to protect the capsules inside, and the labeling is clear and easy to read. Elixinol decided to try something completely different with their Immune Gut Health Capsules. The capsules contain the usual 15mg of CBD as well as something called Ginfort, a highly concentrated ginger extract that does wonders for the stomach.
This blend is not something that I’ve come across before, making it new and exciting for the CBD community. If you’re someone who constantly struggles with stomach upset and immunity, these unique, potent capsules are the ones for you.
Highlights
The combination of CBD and Ginfort is something out of this world. These capsules work wonderfully to ease digestion complications and work to help you feel your best on the inside. Effects kicked in after about 30 minutes, leaving my stomach feeling more at ease and comfortable than it had been previously. Thankfully, there is not a strong taste of hemp nor ginger! These capsules are unflavored and easy to consume, regardless of whether you’re new to CBD or a cannabidiol veteran.
Goods & Bads
There are a lot of incredible things to say about the Immune Gut Health CBD Capsules. But, I also have a few complaints, as well. Let’s start with the good stuff.
Easily, the best part about these Immune Gut Health CBD Capsules, other than the top-shelf CBD, is the Ginfort. Again, Ginfort is not an ingredient I’ve come by yet within the CBD world, but now, I couldn’t be more obsessed. The blend is perfect for anyone who struggles with immune or gut health, in general. And, Elixinol still uses their signature full-spectrum blend for these capsules, too. With this, effects appear even more potent and all-encompassing.
As I’ve stated numerous times now, the biggest downfall to these capsules is low CBD dosage. Unfortunately for me and my poor gut health (and high CBD tolerance), just one pill at 15mg didn’t cut it. With more strength variations, these CBD capsules would be flying off the shelves.

The Immune Gut Health CBD Capsules do exactly what they claim: support your immune health! They target the stomach to help bring relief and boost immunity, and the product works quickly and efficiently. Elixinol crafts every capsule flawlessly, ensuring that no CBD or Ginfort leaks out during the traveling process.

The Immune Gut Health CBD Capsule packaging is straightforward and pleasant. There isn’t any misleading or confusing wording, and the bottle itself is well-made and completely opaque to keep your capsules fresh for as long as possible. It may be simple, but it does get the job done, and that’s what matters. After all, sometimes too flashy of packaging is downright distracting.

Luckily, these capsules don’t come with any flavor whatsoever. Despite being filled with CBD and concentrated ginger extract, you will hardly pick up these notes when consuming. There might be a very slight hemp aftertaste if you consume it with just a glass of water, but any other beverage hides these super-subtle flavors entirely. Elixinol ensures they do not use any artificial flavorings or aromas.

All in all, the Immune Gut Health CBD Capsules do work well — even if they aren’t the most potent. Despite my high tolerance, I did feel a bit of support within about 30 minutes, but it just wasn’t enough. For beginners, however, the 15mg CBD dose may be absolutely perfect. All you have to do is pump about four pumps of this CBD & CBN oil under your tongue (or into your drink, if you’d prefer) before you’re ready for bed. With Elixinol’s advanced liposomal technology, you’re able to experience effects quicker than ever, as CBD has a faster absorption rate in the body.
You can choose between their 300mg or their 1,000mg formula depending on what’s best for you. But, fair warning: this stuff is strong and incredibly pricey at $149.99 for the 1,000mg.
Highlights
By using their advanced liposomal technology, Elixinol has managed to create some of the fastest-acting CBN & CBN oil for sleep that I’ve tried in a while. The actual design of the product was interesting, as you pumped it into your mouth rather than using a dropper. However, the flavor was palatable (despite leaving some seriously oily residue in my mouth). In about 10 minutes, I could already tell that my body was feeling more relaxed than before. And, at the 20-minute mark, I was ready to go lay down. Plus, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
