Slumber CBN Sleep Gummies

Slumber is a hemp company with a clear focus: helping you get a better night’s sleep. To that end, they offer a selection of 14 products, including six gummy formulations, five tinctures, capsules, lavender-scented pillow spray, and magnesium powder.

As the company’s name suggests, their offerings are largely built around CBN, but many also contain CBD, and while most are THC-free, they have some full spectrum products too.

Slumber CBN has also conducted an independent sleep study on their Deep Zzzs CBN Gummies, which found that participants had higher-quality sleep and slept for longer when taking the gummies. On top of this, Slumber makes its products in an FDA-registered, GMP-certified facility and uses hemp grown in Colorado.

Everything seems great, but how do the products match up? Which ones are worth trying and which ones are better to skip? Here’s the low-down.

Slumber’s Product Testing and Quality Standards

Slumber CBN conducts third-party lab testing on each batch of its products, working with ISO 17025:2017 accredited lab SC Labs. These are all available on Slumber’s website, which means customers can check the lab reports before purchasing.

However, aside from non-cannabinoid products – which are tested for microbial contamination – these tests only cover potency, and not safety. This isn’t great, because such lab testing is the only way consumers can be sure the products they buy are safe. For potency, of the products still for sale covered by the lab testing, 78% of Slumber’s products have accurate doses to within 10% – the most commonly used cut-off for accuracy in dosing.

While their testing could be better, Slumber does a great job when it comes to quality standards. They use a GMP-certified and FDA-registered facility to make all of their products. They also source their hemp from Colorado, which is one of the best places to grow hemp in the country. Overall, despite not confirming this independently, the products are likely to be pure and safe to use.

Slumber’s Deep Zzzs are Slumber’s most popular product, and they’re the gummies that the brand tested in a study. The results showed that 87% of 500 people preferred them to other sleep aids they’ve tried, as well as reporting improved sleep quality and more time spent asleep each night.

The core of the gummies is the combination of CBD, CBN and THC – they call it the “Triple-Action Sleep Formula.” This combination has been tested in other research too with positive results.

CBD and THC in combination appear to be effective for sleep, and despite some uncertainty around CBN, the triple-action formula definitely gets the job done.

The gummies are completely melatonin-free, which makes it a more sustainable sleep solution than many options out there.

  • True full spectrum: CBD, CBN, CBC, THC, CBG and CBDV
  • Backed by independent research
  • Melatonin-free
  • Small THC dose boosts effectiveness
  • GMP-certified manufacturing

Slumber’s CBN Drops are the purest encapsulation of who they are as a company. And “pure” isn’t just metaphorical: the CBN drops offer only CBN. So while you lose out on the entourage effects you’d get with Deep Zzzs, it’s perfect if you just want CBN.

Although it doesn’t contain other cannabinoids, Slumber boasts that it contains sleep-promoting terpenes linalool and beta-caryophyllene. These were two terpenes specifically mentioned by the experts we interviewed for our Best CBD Oil for Sleep list. The oil wasn’t tested for terpenes – so we can’t confirm the specific terpenes – but overall, it’s a great idea to incorporate them into the blend.

The price is also a little better per mg of CBN – definitely worth testing out!

  • CBN isolate formula – 10 to 20 mg/ml
  • Lab-confirmed THC-free
  • Contains sleep-promoting terpenes
  • Melatonin and supplement-free
  • Better price per mg of CBN
  • Vanilla + orange flavor
  • No other cannabinoids to boost effects
  • Not safety tested
  • No confirmation of terpenes
Best for Daytime Use

Slumber’s Afternoon Delight gummies prove that they can do more than just help you get better sleep. The gummies do contain small amounts of CBN, but the stars of the show are CBD, CBG and THC.

That gives these gummies a kind of dual purpose. The CBG, CBD and THC make it a good option for pain relief, but the THC alone is enough for a recreational dose.

As with Slumber’s other products, the lab testing is only for potency and this is a big downside. However, with GMP-certified manufacturing and Colorado-grown hemp, it’s not a big surprise that the quality shines through in the gummies.

They’re great for a midday boost, but we like them for a buzzed evening.

  • True full spectrum: CBD, CBG, CBC, THC and CBN
  • 5 mg delta-9 THC makes these good for recreation
  • 10 mg of anti-inflammatory CBG helps with pain relief
  • Good price per mg of CBD
  • Peach Lemonade flavor
  • GMP-certified manufacturing
  • Not tested for safety
  • Not tested for terpenes

How Slumber Compares to Competitors

Slumber might be more specialized than many hemp and CBD companies, but a few notable brands have many similar products at around the same price-point. If you’re wondering whether to choose Slumber, R&R, CBDfx or Cornbread Hemp, here are the main things to think about for each brand.

R&R CBD

R&R’s sleep selection offers a similar array of products to Slumber, with prices around the same $60 mark or more expensive. The selection is comparable, but if you want a lot of CBN, R&R’s best option are some gummies that just have 5 mg per gummy. From that perspective, Slumber has a lot of advantages.

However, there are lots of areas where R&R is superior. They make all of their products using USDA Certified Organic hemp, and they also lab-test everything in full (including safety and terpene testing). Their products are very high quality in general.

Overall, if getting a lot of CBN is important, or you want to save a bit of money, Slumber beats out R&R. But if you want quality, R&R definitely has the edge.

CBDfx

CBDfx's sleep gummies, oil and capsules

CBDfx is a brand with a huge selection in general, and about as many sleep-focused options as Slumber. Like Slumber, they also offer some products with substantial doses of CBN, and they have a similar level of quality when it comes to manufacturing.

Price-wise, although the oils cost a similar amount, the gummies are much cheaper at CBDfx. A $54.99 bottle of gummies comes with 60 instead of 30 (as at Slumber and many other companies), although the gummies don’t contain CBN. The range of non-sleep products is much bigger, though, so if you’re looking for more general-purpose hemp they’re probably a better choice.

The other big difference it’s worth noting is the quality of the lab testing. They also make tests available publicly, but as with R&R CBD, they test every batch for safety as well as purity.

Overall, CBDfx is a strong alternative to Slumber. They offer CBN-rich products at a similar price-point, and they’re a great affordable option if you’re interested in non-sleep products or gummies.

Cornbread Hemp

Cornbread Hemp's Extra Strength Sleep Gummies

Cornbread Hemp comes to mind as a competitor right away because they also offer a more focused selection. The sleep section of their store is only gummies, but their Whole Flower CBD Oil was our top pick for CBD oils for sleep too.

Cornbread really does a lot of things better than Slumber. Their hemp is USDA Organic, and they own and operate the farm it’s grown on. This gives them a lot more control over the process, and they take advantage of that by doing things like making their extracts only from the flower, rather than cheap biomass. Their manufacturing is top-quality and they third-party lab test everything for potency, terpenes and safety.

Their prices are also better. You won’t find the type of high-CBN offerings you get at Slumber, but they have some excellent products to help you sleep and the quality is hard to beat.

The Takeaway

Slumber is a great company with some solid products. The lack of safety testing on their products is a big downside, but their manufacturing quality shows through clearly in their gummies and oils regardless.

If you’re just looking for any CBD oil for improving sleep, Cornbread Hemp is a strong competitor. However, if you’re interested in CBN for sleep specifically, Slumber is strongly recommended.

They’re one of the only companies that have high-CBN offerings and their focus on sleep gives them the edge over many brands in the space. The Deep Zzzs gummies in particular are definitely worth picking up.
