Who we’re looking for

If you’re someone with a talent for honest, unbiased, and persuasive writing and a passion for all things cannabis and CBD, we want to know who you are, where you come from, and the skills you can bring to the CBD Oracle team!

Baseline requirements

  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Experience using cannabis and CBD products
  • Deep knowledge of cannabis strains, benefits, genetics, history, and terminology
  • Able to translate technical information into engaging and entertaining content.
  • Live in a state where medical or recreational marijuana is legal.
  • Excellent writing skills (knowing the difference between there, their, and they’re a bonus)
  • Comfortable being in front of a camera (we may ask you to create unboxing videos)
  • The stamina and tolerance needed to smoke, vape, and generally consume weed daily. If you’re a cannabis lightweight, this opportunity isn’t for you.
  • In good health and able to consume cannabis products without causing you (or your neighbors) harm.
  • Comfortable to openly write about weed under your real name – even if your grandma finds out!

Bonus but not required

  • You’ve written for other cannabis sites and have a strong portfolio
  • You have an active social following (preferably related to cannabis)
  • Background in journalism
  • You are at one with the cannabis community and frequently engage with other like-minded cannabis enthusiasts (online or otherwise). Alternatively, you’ve worked at cannabis companies and organizations in the past. If both, that’s a huge bonus!

The Gig

Cannabis is complicated. It’s your job to uncomplicate it with style, honesty, and creative finesse. Each week, we’ll send you a fresh batch of the hottest legal cannabis products for you to test and review.

Essentially, we’re giving you free weed to try. All you have to do is use that awesome penmanship you’ve been blessed with, give an honest opinion on the free pot we send you, and see the review published on our website with your name proudly stamped on it. Simple as that!

The products you’ll receive include but certainly won’t be limited to: Cannabis and CBD flower, pre-rolls, edibles, oils and tinctures, infused beverages, vaporizers, topicals, and cannabis lubes.

Following our Oracle Rating Criteria, which includes your personal experience with the product, as well as the effects, flavors, and quality, you’ll be helping newbie and seasoned cannabis users find the product they’ve been searching for. No bullshit. No fluff. Just good old-fashioned honest information and advice delivered upfront and straight from the heart, even if the product is total shit.

Writing and reviewing for a growing audience!

CBD Oracle and our parent organization have a family of over 3 million readers each year, all with different tastes and requirements.

Many of our visitors are medical cannabis patients looking for strains, potencies, and cannabinoids accurately tailored to their specific ailment. Our other visitors are recreational (non-medical) cannabis users searching for clean, effective, and high-quality products to enhance aspects of their lifestyle e.g. coping with lockdown anxiety, improving sleep, or recovering from injury.

We also have tons of CBD users needing non-psychotropic, non-high-inducing hemp-derived products designed to target moderate pain, inflammation, or stress and help promote overall health and wellness.

No matter which type of visitor being addressed in our reviews, we’re looking for someone who acts as their loyal and trusted guide, taking them by the hand and walking them through the entire purchasing process.

What benefits will you receive?

As a reward for all your hard work and dedication to helping our visitors navigate the cannabis and CBD minefields, as well as doing something you love, we offer:

  • Payment of up to $30,000 per year as a part-time independent contractor (note: this is not a full-time employment contract).
  • Free products for testing. You’ll receive some of the best cannabis and CBD products and gadgets on the market without paying a cent. They’ll be sent to your home address each week. The best part? They’re yours to keep and use whenever, wherever you like!
  • Invitations to national cannabis events (attend at no cost aside from travel expenses).
  • Have the freedom to work from home (or anywhere else in the world!). Want to review in your PJs? No problems! Prefer working outside in the fresh air? All good with us! Writing while traveling? Ideal!
